121,000,000 US citizens suffer low back or /and lower and upper limb pain.

The CDC has kept records of incidence of pain as of January 2024, and noted a bimodal occurrence in the US, 18-35 year old and over 80 year old. There are a number of effective treatments including injections, medications, Physical therapy, Chiropractic treatment and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. While all are effective there is only 1 treatment that has no side effects and does not require multiple daily visits per week. Osteopathic Manipulative treatment(OMT) has the added benefit of giving you back more than you expected. After treatment individuals may experience a sense of well being and calmness, lower blood pressure and heart rate and immediate decrease in discomfort. I wish I could say it is all because of the skill of the doctor, but, experiments have show that OMT increases the release of the bodies own cannabinoids that cause a decrease in heart rate and blood pressure. They also produce a calming effect on the emotions. This also explains why some patients experience low level dizziness and low level balance loss as the heart rate and blood pressure drop and gravity pulls the blood as well. Symptoms can exist for a few seconds to 1 minute while the body adjusts to the new normal.

There are ~149,000 Osteopathic doctors in the US, unfortunately only 5% ( 7,450)concentrate on OMT(by self reporting). Like any profession an individuals skill level is important to consider. Additionally. finding an osteopath with a personality that works for you is important as well.
