Studies have documented the use, efficacy and safety of osteopathic manipulative treatment(OMT) in pediatric patients for various complaints. These complaints were treated medically and with OMT. Results were not surprising to me. The children treated all showed significant improvement post treatment. This is true for asthmatic patients, these children had increases in their peak expiratory flows of 30-40%.

The diagnosis of pediatric asthma is increasing throughout the world. This disease can have a dramatic effect on young lives limiting their participation in sporting and play activities. There are times when exacerbations of asthmatic attacks severely limiting activity inspite of medication use. OMT may provide assistance in lessoning attacks and stabilizing the effects of the disease.

The same holds true for adults with asthma or other conditions. Everyone deserves to feel better!
